Program Overview

The Young Adult Series assembles some of the most talented college-aged and young adult instrumentalist to experience the thrill of working with master conductors and performing on the famed Musikverein in Vienna, Austria.

2020 Young Adult Honors Performance Series at the Musikverein (Instrumental Only)

June 26 - July 1, 2020

The 2020 Young Adult Series at the Musikverein has been cancelled. The 2021 program dates and application details will be announced in early June 2020.

We are pleased to welcome high school graduates aged 18-25 to apply for the Young Adult Honors Performance Series in June 2020. The Young Adult Series challenges next-level musicians to further their skills, network with other talented musicians, work with renowned conductors, and ultimately take part in an advanced Musikverein performance. When not rehearsing and performing, selected instrumentalists will be able to explore opportunities in music, experience the best of Vienna arts, and get to know other musicians from around the world.

Program Highlights

  • Perform in the elite Honors Performance at the Großer Saal (Great Hall) at the Musikverein.
  • Work with a master conductor and build your performing resume.
  • Rehearse and interact with other like-minded musicians.
  • See the sights and enjoy time with other selected vocalists during your Finalist Celebration Cruise aboard a private yacht.
  • Attend a performance at the Vienna State Opera, interact with professional musicians, and a day trip to Mozart's hometown, Salzburg.

  • Morning & Afternoon: Full-day rehearsals
  • Evening: Finalist Celebration Cruise on the Danube

  • All Day: Full-day sightseeing Tour

Day 5
Tuesday, June 30, 2020

  • Morning: Workshop with professional Vienna musicians
  • Afternoon: Final rehearsal
  • Evening: Honors Performance at the Musikverein

Day 3
Sunday, June 28, 2020

  • Morning & Afternoon: Seating and rehearsals
  • Evening: Attend a classical Viennese performance

Day 6
Wednesday, July 1, 2020

  • Morning: Program and hotel check-out
  • Afternoon: Depart for home

Scholarship Opportunities

The Honors Performance Series is dedicated to bringing together talented young performers from across the world. Need-based partial scholarships are available to full-time students to ensure that performers of all economic backgrounds may apply for this unique performance honor at the Musikverein. Please contact us at +1 (800) 503-0807 to learn more.

Program Components and Cost

The cost for selected 2020 Young Adult Series participants is $2,199 and includes the following:

  • All rehearsals, including equipment and sheet music
  • All production and services for the Musikverein performance
  • All shown activities, including sightseeing, celebration, and other activities
  • All ground transportation during the program, (transportation to and from the Series hotel are the responsibility of the participants; additional information about the option to participate in a group flight will be distributed to Finalists after acceptance)
  • Exposure to and learning from world-class conductors for the program duration
  • City touring guides and program support staff
  • Five nights’ lodging in a centrally located hotel with staff onsite
  • A 24-hour staffed emergency office to handle any unexpected circumstances
  • Around-the-clock access to one of our George Washington Hospital doctors on call for US-based medical support during the program
  • Extensive traveler insurance while on the program

Payment Plan for Selected Finalists

If selected, performers have the option to satisfy the full program expense at once or may follow an optional payment plan:

  • $295 US deposit due with application (all but a $15 US application review fee is returned to the applicant if not selected)
  • November 29, 2019: $300 US due
  • December 27, 2019: $300 US due
  • January 31, 2020: $300 US due
  • February 28, 2020: $300 US due
  • March 27, 2020: $300 US due
  • Final Payment Deadline (April 24, 2020): Any remaining balance due


I enjoyed the opportunity to create beautiful music with such talented individuals. I was completely blown away by the sheer amount of talent that was present.
