YOUNG ADULT | CARNEGIE HALL

Selection Process

College-aged and young adult instrumentalists are invited to apply for selection into the Young Adult Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. Applications are adjudicated by the expert music professionals from the Honors Selection Board.

Selection of Finalists

Selected Finalists receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with and learn from a renowned conductor as they prepare for and perform at a truly world-class venue, Carnegie Hall. In a special performance, students perform for New York co
ncert-goers, educators, and family.

In most cases, qualified musicians are invited to apply after having been nominated by a music teacher familiar with their accomplishments. Given that not all music professionals are aware of the opportunity to nominate, performers who haven't received a teacher nomination may still apply and are required to submit the contact information for a teacher reference as part of the application process.

Working and learning from Dr. Redding was fantastic and fun. I learned so much from him as a fellow educator and would like to keep in touch with him throughout my professional career.
