Sightseeing Extension
Experience more of NYC by extending your stay with an Honors Sightseeing Extension!
Looking for a way to extend the fun of your family's Honors Performance Series experience? Our new Sightseeing Extensions allow Junior Finalists and their loved ones to add two additional nights to their stay! A licensed guide will be your host as you explore more of what the Big Apple has to offer.
Note: The Sightseeing Extension is offered only as a full program and cannot be sold as individual components.

Registration Details
- Selected Junior Finalists will be given the opportunity to enroll themselves and their loved ones in the Series Family Programs via their my.honorsperformance.org student portal following acceptances.
- Junior Finalists wishing to participate in the Sightseeing Extension are also required to register individually since this experience is in addition to the Junior Finalist program in which applicants enrolled during the selection process.
- Junior Finalists (and loved ones under 18) must be accompanied by an authorized adult aged 25 or older.
- Enrollment in the Sightseeing Extension is subject to the same program Terms and Conditions and Standard Cancellation Policy acknowledged during the Junior Finalist's online enrollment.
Sightseeing Extension Itinerary
The Honors Performance Series Sightseeing Extension provides an opportunity for Junior Finalists and their loved ones to add to their Series experience with additional sightseeing and cultural activities. Participants receive the support of a professional guide and the peace of mind that comes with the Series' embedded insurance and 24-hour emergency and medical support. Please note that all itineraries are tentative and subject to change.
Sightseeing Extension Itinerary

Sightseeing Extension Day 1
- Free time for breakfast
- Meet your guide and set out via subway for Central Park
- Central Park: Enjoy a walking tour of this 840-acre oasis in the midst of the busy city, which features the Carousel, Strawberry Fields, and the Great Lawn.
- Central Park Zoo: Did you know there is a zoo in Central Park? Come face-to-face with more than 30 animal species, including New York City's only live cow.
- Free time for lunch
- Rockefeller Center: As the world's largest privately-owned business complex, this center is full of shops, museums, and tourist sites.
- Top of the Rock (subject to change): You'll be awed be the breathtaking 360-degree views of the New York City skyline from the observation deck at the top of Rockefeller Center.
- St. Patrick’s Cathedral: Take in the beauty of one of the largest gothic-style Catholic churches in the United States.
- Free time for dinner
- Broadway Show: Enjoy a longtime Broadway favorite, show TBD
- Return to the hotel
Sightseeing Extension Day 2
- Free time for breakfast
- Meet your guide and set off by subway for a full day of sightseeing
- Statue of Liberty: Take a ferry to Liberty Island, where you will visit this landmark monument to freedom that greets newcomers to New York Harbor.
- Ellis Island: Experience the immigration museum on the historic site of America’s primary gateway for millions of immigrants. See the more than 700,000 names listed on the Wall of Valor, and even research your ancestors by accessing passenger records in the museum’s interactive history center.
- Free time for lunch
- Wall Street and the Financial District: Visit America’s financial center, home to the New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Federal Hall.
- National 9/11 Memorial & Museum: Reflect as you visit the twin pools paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11, 2001, attacks. Created as a living part of the city, this memorial is a green space meant for reverence and memory.
- Free time for dinner
- Chinatown and Little Italy: Explore New York’s largest Chinese community, which includes some of the best bargains and ethnic food in the city, and visit Little Italy, famous for its authentic Italian restaurants and pastry shops.
- Return to the hotel
Sightseeing Extension Day 3
- Farewell and return to airport
- Afternoon departure for home
Sightseeing Extension Inclusions
The Sightseeing Extension includes the following for each participant:
- Admissions and motorcoach/subway transportation for all activities outlined in the above itinerary
- Licensed guide to accompany you to program activities and support you during your stay (Sightseeing Extension exclusive)
- Return transport to John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) at the conclusion of the program
- 24-Hour staffed emergency phone number to handle the unexpected (Sightseeing Extension exclusive)
- Doctors on Call arrangement for medical support while on the program (Sightseeing Extension exclusive)
- Extensive traveler insurance while on the program (Sightseeing Extension exclusive)
- Two nights' lodging in the Series hotel (double occupancy)
Please Note: Participants are responsible for their own meals and transportation to/from New York City for the Series and Sightseeing Extension.
2023 Sightseeing Extension Tuition
The tuition for each 2023 New York City Sightseeing Extension participant is $1,150 US. Participants have the option to satisfy the full program expense upon enrollment or may include the Family Program tuition in the Junior Finalist's payment plan.
