Music Program Highlights
The Honors Performance Series at the Sydney Opera House is a high school music program reserved for a select group of aspiring musicians. As a reward for talent and hard work, high school musicians selected for this program embark on the journey of a lifetime.
This audition-based music program brings an elite group of high school musicians together on this iconic backdrop to take their musical ambitions to the next level. The Sydney Opera House experience is a place where music and magic come together to foster growth and create lifelong memories.
Australia’s Grand Stage
The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic music venues in the world, a masterpiece of architecture and a symbol of musical excellence. For National Performance Honors musicians, performing on this stage, where legends such as Herbie Hancock, Prince, Solange Knowles, Coldplay, and Tony Bennett performed, is sure to instill awe and inspiration.
High School Music Program Sample Itinerary
(Tentative and Subject to Change)
Day 1
- Morning: Arrive in Sydney
Note: Depending on your city of origin, you may need to leave home as early as two days before to arrive in Sydney for the start of the program - Afternoon: Meet your Chaperone and explore Sydney, including a stop at Bondi Beach
- Evening: Hotel check-in and welcome meeting
Day 2
- All Day: Blue Mountains Day Tour (ride the steepest passenger railway in the world, drive to Echo Point to view the Three Sisters rock formation, visit a zoo, and more)
Day 3
- Morning & Afternoon: Seating and rehearsals
- Evening: Explore and take a walking tour of Sydney's famous historic district, The Rocks
Day 4
- Morning & Afternoon: Rehearsals
- Evening: Guided sightseeing in Sydney
Day 5
- Morning: Final Rehearsal and Sound Check
- Afternoon: Sydney Opera House Honors Performance
- Evening: Finalists Celebration
Day 6
- Morning: Farewell and return to the airport
- Afternoon: Depart for home

Sydney Opera House Music Program Details
Tuition and Payment for Selected Finalists
Being selected is an exciting achievement, and we’re here to make the next steps simple. Finalists may choose to pay their tuition in full or enroll in a flexible payment plan, which breaks the total into monthly installments from the time of acceptance to the start of the program.
Payment plans can be created upon acceptance, with automatic charges scheduled for the 1st or 15th of each month. Accepted Finalists can review all payment details by logging into my.honorsperformance.org and navigating to the Payment tab.
College Credit is included with tuition. Finalists attending high school programs are eligible to receive college credit(s) through George Mason University. Credits are included in the cost of tuition and are awarded for successful completion of the program and credit requirements.
Music Program Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship options help make this once-in-a-lifetime experience at Sydney Opera House accessible to exceptional student performers from all economic backgrounds. Scholarship applications become available after program acceptance.
