Online Application Process

We are pleased to invite you to apply for the  Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. The honor of participation in the Honors Choir and Honors Instrumental Ensembles is offered to talented students from across North America and select international schools. To be considered, you must submit a complete application and meet the following application requirements:

  • High School Honors Performance Series: Students must be in grades 9-12 during the 2013-2014 school year to be eligible.
  • Middle School Honors Performance Series: Students must be in grades 6-8 during the 2013-2014 school year to be eligible.

Please note that only High School applications are being considered at this time.
Middle School applications will be accepted beginning in Fall 2013.

Performers have the option to apply online instead of mailing in a  paper application . By applying online, all required information, as well as all supplemental files (audition recording, etc.) are submitted electronically. This capability speeds up the application submission and review process.

 

To complete the application online, please follow these easy steps:

  1. 1. Apply Online.                                                                      

    Begin the application process by completing the online application, including your application deposit.  Upon completion, you will receive an email confirmation.

  2. 2. Finalize Audition Materials for Upload.

    A complete application includes the following elements, which must be submitted after beginning the application process online (above).

            (only if not previously nominated)

  3. 3. Upload Audition Materials.

    Complete the application process by submitting your remaining audition materials.


Submission Timeline for High School Applicants:
(Middle School Applications will be accepted beginning in Fall 2013) 
Please submit all application materials as soon as possible in order to ensure a timely review of your application.

  • All remaining application materials must be received by October 1, 2013 to be eligible for first round review.
  • We will submit your materials and audition for board review once all materials have been received.  

Evaluation Process and Selection of Finalists: All completed applications received will be reviewed by our Board of professional musicians to select Finalists for the Honors Choir and Honors Instrumental Ensembles.

  • Finalists and First Runners-up notifications will be mailed by October 31, 2013. Performers selected for the program to perform as part of the Honors Ensembles are designated as Finalists.
  • Should any Finalists cancel their participation, First Runners-up will be offered the opportunity to join.
  • All instrumentalists are automatically considered equally for both instrumental ensembles. Instrumentalists are first accepted into the program and are then assigned to the Band or Orchestra based upon instrumentation and balance requirements. The Series cannot guarantee that, if accepted, instrumentalists will be placed into a specific ensemble.
